Battery Park Play Date

We had a play date this week with our new friends Elissa, Micah, and Adam. They showed us Battery Park in Manhattan. And Colin and Claire had their first ferry ride!

Our view from the ferry of lower Manhattan financial district.

Koi fish and ducks

The first thing Claire did after sitting in the sand box was try to eat a big handfull of sand, of course.

The view of the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park

Check out the stroller in the background with the blue towels on it...Claire's taking a little snooze!

The Big Blue Tunnel

Colin and I took a trip to Ikea the other weekend and he had so much fun playing in this tunnel at the store that I knew Claire would love it too.

Claire Standing Up!

So, Claire has decided she would rather just stand up instead of learning to stand by holding on to things and gradually letting go. It's pretty funny to see...Claire will be in the middle of the floor, then work up to a squatting position, then just stand straight up. I never know when it's going to happen so I usually don't have a camera around. But, on this day I did have one! It's not a great picture, but I hope you can get the point.

Claire's First Swing

The video does not quite capture just how much she enjoyed the swings. This video was taken a couple of months ago, but she still has the same delighted reaction every time she gets to swing.

Goodnight Moon

Part of Colin's bedtime routine is reading books. He goes through phases where he'll want the same ones read over and over. Lately it's been Green Eggs and Ham, Goodnight Moon, and Sleep Tight Elmo. Well, one night Colin surprised Matt by reciting some of the words in Goodnight Moon! The part Colin enjoys saying is, "...And good night to the old lady wispering hush..."

Claire's Eating Peas

Here's a video of Claire having her first meal of peas!!

Cue the Godfather music and roll it...

Here's just a random video of Colin doing his thing.
