Play Time
Colin is still very attached to his Baby Einstein toy (that's made for babies UP TO 9MONTHS). As you can see in the pictures, he is lovingly showing Claire how she should play with it.

Going to the group playdate at the Hoboken Community Center!

This picture doesn't really belong under the post "Play Time" it should be titled "Work Time". Colin finally got tired of waiting for Matt and me to put together his kitchen set so he took matters into his own hands. His fine motor skills are pretty advanced for a 2 year old, don't you think? He certainly saved me a big headache by putting his kitchen together himself.

My Helper
Smiles from Claire
Claire is starting to smile at us now. I'm so taken with watching her and trying to get her to smile longer that I forget to get the camera. I did manage to capture this half smile the other night, though.
Anyone who's seen Claire recently knows the smiles are much better than this video, but at least it's a sample of how cute her smiles are.

Claire and Penelope
Claire had her first doctor's appointment a few weeks ago. She's about 8 1/2 pounds now and she's outgrown all of her newborn clothing. Now that she's a month old, I thought we should start posting her pictures with Penelope. See you next month!

1 month

2 months - Claire is now 22 inches long and weighs 11 pounds. She LOVES to eat, in fact, we've nicknamed her Claire "never miss a meal" McBride.

No 10 months :(

12 months - Claire's last official picture with Penelope. I heard her tell Penelope, "It's been real, P. Peace out."

Two Children!!!
Things are finally getting somewhat back to normal around here after the holidays. Claire is sleeping from about 11 pm to 5 am and Colin has pushed his bedtime back to 8 pm, most nights. They are both getting up around 8 am (Claire goes back to sleep after her 5 am bottle) so it's a little hectic first thing in the morning. I still haven't quite got the timing down perfectly, but we've managed to get out for a walk two times this past week. People have been asking how Colin is adjusting to Claire being here and I think he's doing just fine. In fact, he's learning to take full advantage of the time when I'm occupied with her. I've caught him in the act of getting into several things that are off limits (think refrigerator, kitchen drawers...), but only had the camera handy once. He's been a really big help too. When giving Claire a bath the other day, he brought me the wipes (without me asking him to) and a diaper (after I asked him to). Things are definitely going pretty good right now.

Caught in the act!

Had to take a picture.

And Colin said, "Again!" (Yes, he's drinking bathwater. No, I can't get him to stop.)

He's just a baby!

Testing out the new ride.
