Airport Delays...expect, plan for, and learn to love 'em

Sooooo, Colin and I were supposed to go to Birmingham this past Wednesday for a nice little summer trip. I searched and searched to find a direct flight and finally found one out of Laguardia at 2:50pm. Well, I think everybody knows you take a risk in getting an afternoon flight, but I thought it was better to get a 3 hour direct flight than to get an early morning MINIMUM 5 hour flight (with stops). WRONG. Turns out the reason for our delay couldn't be helped (it was due to weather, horrible thunderstorms), but you just never know. Anyway, Colin and I spent a lovely afternoon in the airport followed by an even better time in rush hour traffic through Manhattan to get home. But again, I have a wonderful tempered son. I was actually the one that had a mini-meltdown! And he was sweet and wonderful making me smile the whole time. This picture was taken around hour 4 of our delay (yes, that's right, we had already spent 4 hours in the airport at this point)....as you can see he's happily munching away on french fries.

We hope to reschedule and see all the Birmingham folks in September!

Dog Crates & Wagons

What is it about toddlers and dog crates? Here's Colin enjoying a short nap in Mack's bed.

My Angel Baby

How is it that my head can be aching for Colin to go to sleep one minute and then when he FINALLY does, I actually MISS him? This was taken during a nap time.

This is the typical pre-bath routine. I'm not really sure if he's excited or protesting sometimes!

I tried to catch Colin while he was dancing to some music playing from the computer.

"I like to sit in things" - Colin

So, everybody knows that Colin likes to sit in things, boxes of all sizes, laundry baskets...well, the other day he actually tried to sit in the tiny little canister/tin that's in the picture. Oh, Colin...

And the sex is...

It's a girl! We had the ultrasound on Monday. The baby is healthy and growing stronger and stronger. We're very excited to be having a little girl! Below is a 4D picture from the ultrasound. She's holding her little right hand in front of her face.

Bump Watch 2009

I think this should count as the first official "bump" picture. I'm about one week shy of being 5 months along. So far, the due date is still November 27th.

We're finding out the sex on July 13th (this coming up Monday....finally!!). I've been feeling the baby move for a couple of weeks now. And the kicks and little jabs are getting stronger and stronger.

This is the 6 month(ish) picture. Due date is still November 27th. No name picked out yet, but we've started our list. Baby Girl McBride is VERY active. She's been kicking constantly between the hours of 9 and 11 pm every night (Colin used to go from 10 - 11pm) and then randomly all day long (Colin slept all day long). Colin still hasn't really noticed that Mommy has a big belly now. I tell him all the time, "Mommy has a baby in there" especially when he's trying to climb all over me, but it just hasn't registered yet. (I'm kidding, I do tell him a baby is coming, but I don't really expect him to grasp the whole concept.)

Stay tuned to see the ever expanding belly!!

7 months (28 weeks) and going strong. My "turkey timer" belly button has popped out, but I don't think she's done cooking; however, from the kicks she gives I'd say she's plenty strong!

8-ish months. That's all I have to say about it.

38 weeks, otherwise known as 2 weeks away from being 40 WEEKS (or 10 MONTHS) PREGNANT
This was a special request picture and will be the last. One week from this coming Tuesday, we will be having a beautiful baby girl. Stay tuned to the blog for newborn pictures!

Yo Boyeeee!!!!

Who is Colin channeling in this picture?!

Moving Day!

Over the holiday weekend Matt, Colin, and I moved into a new apartment (in the same building we've been in). I want to send out a big THANK YOU to my parents and grandparents for making the trip from Alabama to help us. It was a great time visiting and working.

Now where did we put those child-proof cabinet locks??
The old apartment is finally cleaned out!

Now....to put stuff away in the new apartment...

Happy 4th of July!
